5 Healthy Hacks To Start The New Year Strong

Here’s 5 Easy Lifestyle Hacks For A Healthier New Year

#1 Focus On Drinking More Water

I know this one seems simple but so many people don’t do it.

When your body is hydrated it will help you burn fat better

feel fuller longer and

It will help you feel more energized.

Hack # 2 Drink A Protein Smoothie Every Day

This one will definitely turn some eyebrows!

But let’s be real….

Most people are not getting enough protein each day.

If you can find a couple recipes you enjoy, it’s an easy way to make sure you’re getting 20-30 grams of protein.

Bonus Tip: Adding a greens powder to it will make sure that you’re also getting in more vitamins and minerals to keep you healthy & your immunity strong.

Hack #3 Focus on Getting Quality Movement in 2-3 Times Per Week

Let’s face it.

We are more sedentary than ever before.

So planning 2 to 3 days a week where you do an activity that makes you break a sweat.

The body is a lot like a machine.

The more you keep it oiled and moving, the longer it will last.

Let the machine sit too long and it stops working.

Hack #4 Set A Few 90 Day Goals

When you don’t have direction, you end up spinning your wheels.

Easy way to get out to a great start in the New Year is to set some action based goals.

Here’s an example of an action based 90 Day Goal.

I am going to log 24 workouts in the next 90 days.

Notice this isn’t outcome focused. Outcome focus would look like this.

I want to lose 10 pounds in the next 90 days

One goal you have full control over.

It is completely up to you to do those 24 workouts.

When you do those 24 workouts along with making other healthy habits,

It will drive the results that you want to see.

Hack #5 Focus On The Process of Building Habits

Much like our action based goals in #4, it’s important to focus more on the things that drive the outcomes you want to achieve.

If your goal is to lose weight, you can do a crash diet and reach your goal but it’s not sustainable.

At Impact I have a saying, we don’t let you start things we know you can’t do forever.

When we focus on habits like getting more sleep, eating more protein, drinking more water, spending more time outdoors, exercising each week - we actually change our identity.

The key to any successful transformation is a change in identity

In order to become someone you’ve never been, you need to do things you’ve never done.

So let’s start taking action today.
